Holidays are for treating yourself and taking a break from the cooking. Imagine yourself in a traditional local pub, sampling locally brewed ale and eating some of the freshest produce you can imagine, from Kilnsey trout to Limestone Beef. We are also famous for our own Yorkshire tea made by Taylors of Harrogate.
The Dales and Harrogate has a number of guesthouses, tearooms, pubs and restaurants specialising in local produce and offer tempting menus and delicious cakes using locally sourced Yorkshire Dales' ingredients. Why not stock up before you go home, there are plenty of farm shops and markets throughout the Yorkshire Dales and Harrogate area where you can take a small piece of Yorkshire home with you.
Wallace and Gromit fans will know how much they like 'real' Yorkshire Wensleydale Cheese and you can pick yours up in Hawes from the actual creamery where it is made. But there is more than just delicious cheese! Across the Yorkshire Dales you can find everything from locally produced sausages to chocolate, beers to preserves, puddings to pies, game meats to free-range eggs, and ice cream to naturally reared meat and home grown vegetables. So go on - spoil yourself!
Local food and drink not only tastes better, it helps improve local people's livelihoods and ensures they can continue to produce delicious products for you to enjoy.
