Leeds is only 2 hours from London and then there are train services from Leeds and Carlisle which bring you into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales.

A new service Dales Rail 2009 will be operating on Sundays from the 12th April. The service starting in the seaside resort of Blackpool, travels along the scenic Ribble Valley and Settle to Carlisle lines, before terminating in the historic border city of Carlisle.
