Grassington

A picturesque village surrounded by limestone scenery.

WHERE IS BEST FOR ME?

One of the most popular villages in Wharfedale, Grassington lies within the Yorkshire Dales National Park and retains all its charm. Centred around a busy cobbled square are a selection of family owned shops offering quality food, clothing and gifts, cosy cafes, restaurants and places to stay.

Grassington is a traditional working village and makes an excellent base for exploring Upper Wharfedale’s moorland and riverside trails. There is pony trekking nearby, fly-fishing on the River Wharfe, an underground world of stalagmites and stalactites can be enjoyed by the whole family at the nearby show caves.

Art exhibitions and craft fairs are held regularly in a variety of venues, but a must for all visitors are the local festivals!

What not to miss
The Grassington Festival - a mix of poetry, comedy, music and crafts
Parceval Hall (Appletreewick) - beautiful woodland gardens
Simon's Seat - a rocky outcrop with stunning views
