Kettlewell

A charming village which offers peace and tranquility throughout the year.

WHERE IS BEST FOR ME?

This classic Yorkshire Dales village in Wharfedale provided the setting for the fictional village of ‘Knapely’ in the internationally acclaimed film ‘Calendar Girls’.

Situated in the valley of Wharfedale within the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Kettlewell lies in the shadow of Great Whernside, surrounded by limestone terraces. It is a popular starting point for riverside and high fell walks, while nearby Kilnsey Crag is a spectacular rock formation that is a regular haunt for ardent climbers.

The experienced caver will find some of Britain's most challenging cave systems in Upper Wharfedale!

There are a number of places to stay and a selection of pubs and tearooms to tempt you both within Kettlewell and the surrounding villages. But for some real family fun, Kettlewell is famous for its annual Scarecrow Festival in August!
